MorningWithClara
Happy Monday, friends! I’m excited to start this (short) week off with another “A morning with…” feature. I am hoping to start posting these more regularly, but lately life has got the best of me and I’ve been more focused on spending time outside than anything else.

That said, I’m super excited to have my friend, Clara, share a bit about her morning routine today. Clara is the genius blogger behind Channeling Contessa and is also an incredibly talented event planner, social media strategist and brand builder who owns her own company. For more information, check out her company’s website! With that, I’ll hand it over to Clara…

7:30/8 a.m.: Rise and shine! I realize this wake up time probably seems a bit late for folks, but New Yorkers (unless you’re a parent I suppose) generally start (and end ) the day later. I tiptoe out of bed so I don’t wake my boyfriend who’s usually still in a deep slumber. First stop is the coffee pot. While my coffee is brewing I down a big glass of water that I actually poured the night before, so it’s right there waiting. I always feel better if I hydrate first thing in the morning.

8:00 a.m.: With hot coffee in hand, I settle in at my desk. This first hour of my day is really dependent on my project load or schedule for the day. If most of the day will be spent away from my desk, I like to take this hour to bang out a ton of emails, and get things squared away for the day on the blog and other projects before I leave my apartment. If my day is not so go go go, I’ll take that first hour a little more leisurely and read blogs, and send a personal email or two while I sip my coffee.

9:00 a.m.: My stomach starts to get hungry for breakfast. Again, the meal is dependent on the day. Some mornings it’s a piece of Bread Alone’s Organic Nine Grain slathered in peanut butter, other days it’s some eggs and avocado, or Greek yogurt with homemade granola and berries enjoyed at my desk. No matter the day though, it’s imperative I have a boost of protein with my breakfast- otherwise I’ll be hungry by 10 am!

9:30 a.m.: I either settle in for a long day at my desk, or get dressed and showered and run out the door. I had to admit it but the days I do spend all day at home, sometimes a shower doesn’t happy until after noon!

Thanks for sharing, Clara!
