It seems fitting that the week I shared about finding hope in miscarriage over at Risen Motherhood, I would also share about a piece of jewelry that honors our babies, both living and in heaven. Holly Peterman, a designer with KEEP Collective, reached out a few months ago about working together to create a custom piece of jewelry, and after some thought I knew what I wanted to create.

After some back and forth with Holly, who was super helpful mocking up design options and inspiration, I settled on this leather bracelet adorned with two arrows (one for each of our babies in heaven) flanking the letter “A” for Ainsley.

I am so impressed by the quality of the jewelry and the endless options for creating something that felt personal and unique. For someone like me, who doesn’t love the look of traditional keepsake jewelry, this is much  more my style. Looking through the look book that Holly included with my order already has me dreaming about my next piece of jewelry. The collection includes everything from bracelets to earrings, watches and key fobs.

Holly was so sweet to agree to hosting a KEEP Collective Mystery Hostess Social, meaning that when you shop using the link below, you will be entered to win the host rewards from the social. It’s a great deal for whoever wins while supporting a fellow small business owner.

StellaAndDot_6Jeans from Madewell :: Sweater from Anthropologie :: Shoes from Tieks :: Legend Pendant Necklace c/o Kim Jensen :: Aurora Ring Set c/o Kim Jensen :: Deja Vu Pearl Studs c/o Kim Jensen

Curating a practical mom-drobe has changed the way I shop. Because I’m toting a messy, drooly baby around town half of the day, my clothes rarely make it through the day without a few spots and stains, meaning dry clean only items are a thing of the past. Some might say off-white isn’t practical with kiddos, but I love wearing white. As long as I can wash it at the end of the day, I’m good!

This sweater is incredibly comfortable, cozy and flattering. I paired it with my favorite skinny jeans, flats and some beautiful baubles from Stella & Dot. This is the second outfit that Kim styled for me, and I’m loving the edgy + lady like look these three pieces create. The pearl studs are actually reversible, so it’s like owning two pairs of earrings in one, which is perfect for a jewelry minimalist like myself.

Kim has been so kind to host a giveaway for Espresso and Cream readers! She will be giving away a $25 gift card to her Stella & Dot shop to one lucky reader. Thanks, Kim, for hosting the giveaway and keeping my mom-drobe looking fresh and stylist. Even if you don’t win, I would highly suggest hopping over to Kim’s page and doing a little holiday shopping – I know I already did!

:: My New Mom Style ::

StellaDot_4Today I’m launching the first in a series of posts on my new mom style. I’ve been slowly revising my wardrobe over the past few months to fit my new life as a mom, work-from-home freelancer and recipe developer and manager of a home remodel that’s still very much in progress.

Although I don’t have to report to an office every day, I do like to try and dress up a bit for the days that I’m working. Sometimes I’ll head to a coffee shop, sometimes I stay close to home, other times I’ll camp out at my mom’s house when she’s at work. There’s something about putting on a real outfit, makeup and doing your hair that helps to boost productivity.

One area of my mom-drobe that was seriously lacking? Jewelry. I’ve been putting more thought into my wardrobe without really focusing on accessorizing. Thankfully Kim came to my rescue and offered to style a couple outfits with beautiful jewelry from Stella & Dot.

Have you all heard of Stella & Dot? Their jewelry is beautiful, you guys! Heavy, high quality and durable. And I found the price point great – just nice enough to feel like you’re giving or receiving something speical without breaking the bank.

The earrings I’m wearing are reversible, with pearls on one side and gold studs on the other. And the necklace can be worn two ways as well, which, for a mom on a budget is a huge plus to be able to get two looks from one piece of jewelry. I’ll be doing a giveaway with Kim in the coming weeks, but I would highly suggest you check out the line for yourself in the meantime!
