A Little Nutmeg Update

February 1, 2013

The results of the survey are in. Thank you to everyone who participated and provided feedback on what you would like to see more of on Espresso and Cream! It turns out that, not surprisingly, many of you want to see more photos of Nutmeg on the blog. And I don’t blame you. I’m partial, but I do think she’s pretty darn cute. I don’t know why I’ve stopped taking photos of our pup lately, probably because she spends most of her days napping. And one nap looks just about like every other nap. She did get a new puppy bed from TJ Maxx (as pictured above) so she is napping in style now.

Nut has been a little trooper with all the craziness that has been going on lately. She’s been traveling, moving and adjusting to new surroundings like a champ. She’s also quickly discovered that if she hangs out below our nephew Baylen’s high chair, she may benefit from an extra snack or two. I babysat Baylen this week while Amber was at a doctor’s appointment. This is what snack time looked like…

I think this cutie could be on an advertisement for Chobani with the way he goes through yogurt. He ate the entire Greek yogurt I gave him!

And little Nut sat below Baylen. Bay has taken to feeding Nutmeg intentionally, and Nut is not complaining one bit.

Have a happy weekend, friends!

Nutmeg Takes a Vacation

March 22, 2012

A week and a half ago when we were home for my grandma’s funeral, we left Nutmeg with my mom for two whole weeks. Since I’m the type of puppy parent who hated the idea of leaving my dog at a kennel while we vacationed with Joe’s family in Arizona, I figured leaving her with my mom would be the best option.

Of course, my mom has loved taking care of Nut and having her around. Me on the other hand? I’ve been dying. So please indulge me while I post a few pictures of Nutmeg that have been taken over the past couple months. Can’t wait to have her back with us tomorrow!

Happy Birthday, Nutmeg!

November 6, 2011

This weekend we celebrated the fifth birthday of our little princess, Nutmeg. She pretty much rules the roost around here and is most definitely our baby, so we had to celebrate in style. She is now sporting a new collar and has a belly full of birthday treats.

This morning before church I whipped up a batch of ‘Pumpkin Pupcakes’ based off this recipe for pumpkin bars. I halved the recipe and scaled back the sugar to 2/3 cup, but aside from that I kept the recipe pretty close to the original. And to top things off I mixed up a batch of peanut butter frosting using a cup of whipped heavy cream, 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter and 1/3 cup powdered sugar.

Joey and I were both pretty blown away at how delicious the pupcakes were (yes, we ate one, too). So if you are in the market for a sweet treat that will please dogs and people alike, I would highly suggest giving this recipe a go.

Happy Birthday, Nutmeg! We love you so much little lady!

The Dog Days of Summer

August 30, 2011

Last week I had Friday off from work and got the opportunity to watch what really goes on in our house when the little princess rules the roost. Man, I tell you, it’s tough being a dog.

Hope you all had a wonderful day!
