Joe and I took a little bit of time tonight to try something special and off the beaten path for dinner. Well, that’s not quite true. We eat pizza all the time, but this was the first time we made pizza on the grill. And man, it was amazing. The crispy, charred crust was better than anything we’ve ever made in the oven, and it went a lot faster than cooking it in the oven, too. Here’s our step-by-step guide to grilling pizza at home!
{Preheat grill to 450°F. Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray or grease grill racks with olive oil. Add dough to grill grates and cook 2 to 3 minutes.}
{Gently flip dough and cook 2 to 3 minutes more.}
{Remove crust from grill and transfer to baking sheet. Add sauce and return back to grill.}
{Add cheese atop the sauce and any desired toppings, like basil or meat. Close the lid, reduce heat to medium high and wait until cheese is melted, about 3 to 5 minutes.}
{Make funny faces while you wait.}
{And smile for the camera in your post-gym glory.}
{And take pictures of your dog, just for good measure.}
{Remove pizza from grill and transfer to baking sheet. Cut into slices to serve.}
