Sorry for the radio silence over the past few days. Joe and I have been taking in all the sights and tastes of Door County, Wisconsin, and having a great time doing so. When looking for a vacation spot for the summer, we wanted to do something a little on the low-key side, since we have hopes of taking a European vacation next summer (fingers crossed!). Door County is only about an 8 hour drive from our home in Grinnell, meaning we could easily make the drive in a day, but it feels a world away from the Iowa scenery. With state parks, miles of scenic driving, great food and little traffic, Door County has been the perfect spot to vacation this summer. Here is a look at what we’ve been doing the past handful of days. I’ll be back at the end of the week with a list of places we stayed and where we ate, in case you’re planning on visiting.
