Whew! What a big weekend! Joe and I officially closed on our house Friday afternoon and have spent almost all our time there since. After having a celebratory pizza party on the floor Friday night with Jake, Amber, Baylen and Nutmeg, we got to work first thing Saturday morning when my mom arrived.
The house doesn’t come with any major projects, but there are enough odds and ends to keep us busy for weeks, including painting over some of the baby blue and bright green in a couple of the rooms. In addition to the five rooms that we got painted, we also survived the marital test of hanging drapes in the dining room together (4 hours later…) and have been eating off paper plates with plastic silverware for three days. I think we’ll have to continue to in this manner until our stuff arrives on Saturday.
That’s all for now! I’m rushing to get ready for my first day at the new job. It feels a bit like the first day of school and I’ll have to admit that I’m just a little nervous. Hopefully my new co-workers can overlook the fact that my nails are covered in paint rather than polish! I’ll check in with another update and better photos soon.
