I’m not an alcohol girlie but I am a drinks girlie through and through. Always have been (just ask my husband) So when I say something is good, you can trust me. This has been my go-to drink lately and it feels so fun and fancy while also providing clean non-jittery energy, stress-supportive ingredients like l-theanine and ashwagandha, and helping regulate blood sugar and provide a little gut-friendly fermentation.

Combine 1 Pomegranate Energy Fizz, 1 scoop Pink Lemonade Inner Calm, 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar, 12-14 oz water and a squirt of lemon juice. Add ice and drink immediately. ❤️

I’ve wanted to do a “What I Eat” for a while

I’ve wanted to do a “What I Eat” for a while and finally documented a full day’s worth of eats. My focus is fiber, whole foods, and foods that make my body feel great. I found years ago that when I made fiber a huge focus of my food choices, it boosted how satiated I felt and left my gut feeling amazing. Bye bye bloat and stomach pain and excess weight, if I’m being honest.

Skinny jeans are “back” according to some people. I put mine on for the first time in a while and felt really sad I had ever stopped wearing them in the first place. They are SO comfy IMO.

Honestly this year I’ve decided it’s very “out” to let fashion trends determine what your personal style is. When you pull back, you can see so clearly that it’s all just an endless attempt to make you buy more to keep up with trends. But what’s always in is personal style that makes you feel good!

Tend and mend! Oftentimes when I’m feeling dissa

Tend and mend! Oftentimes when I’m feeling dissatisfied with my wardrobe or feeling like I have “nothing” to wear it’s simply because I have a messy and poorly tended to closet. It helps tremendously to take a couple hours and tend to my closet. Ironing anything that needs to be ironed. Washing things that need freshening up. Putting everything neatly back on hangers. (Added bonus for matching hangers!) mending anything that needs mending and then making a pile of things that are cluttering your closet and need to be donated. This also allows me to intentionally make a list of items I actually DO need and see duplicates or redundant items in my wardrobe more clearly. #clothes #momstyle #momfashion #momlife #momof4

2025…. Also known as the year our kids get serio

2025…. Also known as the year our kids get serious about carrying their own weight around the house. 🤣 But in all seriousness, it has been the year we have started getting committed to holding our kids accountable to being a part of this family and carrying some of the responsibility around our home.

What I no longer am responsible for:
-management of their laundry. If it’s dirty and they want to have clean clothes to wear, it better make it to the washing machine. I’ve also stopped putting their clothes away and instead hand them a laundry basket of clean clothes that they put away on their own. (We help our five year old)
.
.
-Emptying the dish washer. They are also taking turns doing dishwasher duty. Each morning someone is in charge of emptying the dish washer and putting away all the clean dishes.
.
.
-Chicken and cat chores. Ok, I still have to help a bit on the water dispensers but the litter scooping and feeding and putting up and letting out duties are their responsibility. They rotate each week.
.
.
We have also started implementing family mealtime clean up. No more leaving it up to mom to clean up the dishes and kitchen at the end of the day. We are all pitching in together and it’s SO lovely.

I didn’t really even notice how much my skin unevenness and discoloration changed until I looked back at the first photo (from 2022 - wearing tinted moisturizer) to today (wearing nothing on my skin except moisturizer.) My skin tone and texture around the jaw line is SO different. All my life I just assumed that was “just how my skin was” but consistently using new-to-me clean and high performing skincare totally changed the game for me - and that’s coming from someone who would have said I was happy with my skin here.

This is your permission slip to stop wearing jeans just because they are “flattering” and pick cuts that are comfortable and work for the life you want to live. Right now, for me it’s all about the wide leg jeans + putting a belt on it. Things I don’t do as a mom of girls as someone who used to have disordered eating and an unhealthy relationship with my body:

1. Participate in “before and after” culture. I know it’s marketing gold. I know before and afters sell product but I refuse to participate. IMO, before and afters send the message that before was “bad” and after is “good” to little eyes that are watching and I think it does more harm than good.
.
.
2. Talk about my body. Hard and fast rule since my girls were bitty. While I’m not immune to human thoughts of negativity about my body, I have never voiced anything negative about my body in front of my girls unless it’s commenting on a physical ability such as being strong enough to carry them, or able to run many miles, etc.
.
.
3. Talk about food as good or bad. Food is fuel. Some foods provide more/better fuel than others. But we don’t talk in our home about food being “bad” or “off limits” etc. I don’t speak in absolutes about food I eat, either. We choose to focus on how a food makes us feel, or how much energy it gives us, etc.
.
.
4. Talk about diets, being skinny, losing weight, etc. I know I can’t shelter them from the world’s messages but I can do my part at home to paint a positive picture of health and wellness that models the values I hope they carry with them as they get older.
.
.

2024. It was almost hard to go back to the beginni

2024. It was almost hard to go back to the beginning of this year and pull photos because there was such layered complexity to this year. It held a LOT of unseen hard and unspeakable joy all rolled into one. As I look back on this year it was one of the hardest and best and worst and most complex and most stretching and most miraculous years of my life. God did good work this year and I’m humbled to stand where I am welcoming a new year.

The smiles you see here are hard fought and much deserved and deeper because of life lived and lessons learned.

Many of you OG’s started to follow along when I started blogging about our fertility journey. We have four babies in heaven and our fertility journey sparked my interested in clean/low-tox living long before it was cool. 😉

I’m also a #heartmom to the most amazing five year old - Truett - who had life-saving surgery as an infant for an undiagnosed #coarctationoftheaorta. We are so thankful he is alive and thriving.he keeps us on our toes on the daily. 🤣

We are slowly fixing up a 1970’s home on two acres. It’s a gem of a house but also quite a big undertaking and you will frequently see us mid-project. 😃

It was a Christmas where we seriously underestimat

It was a Christmas where we seriously underestimated the number of batteries we needed and spent most of the day assembling toys and learning how to use new gifts and running ourselves ragged helping everyone. We ate nearly 20 cinnamon rolls over the course of the day 🤣😳 and dad officially took over the role of chief cinnamon roll maker.

God did some mighty wonderful things in the last year and our family is blessed beyond measure for the gift of one another. Something I don’t take for granted.

As Truett said to me today, “God is the greatest gift of all!” He really, is, friends. Praise Him from whom all blessings flow and Merry Christmas!

Idk why but felt that someone else might also need a reminder that there are real people, living in real houses, with real budgets, and lots of kids and limited time to do all their projects. That, as my favorite phase says, “Home takes time.” And, in reality, even those who love a clean and tidy home 🙋🏼‍♀️ still live daily in houses that have evidence of real life.
