The feedback really does speak for itself. 🎉 As one client said, “Arbonne skincare is superior” and I have to agree. It’s been the biggest surprise to me (because I thought I was happy with my skin) but I had no idea how good it could get. Fewer products + better results.

I didn’t really even notice how much my skin unevenness and discoloration changed until I looked back at the first photo (from 2022 - wearing tinted moisturizer) to today (wearing nothing on my skin except moisturizer.) My skin tone and texture around the jaw line is SO different. All my life I just assumed that was “just how my skin was” but consistently using new-to-me clean and high performing skincare totally changed the game for me - and that’s coming from someone who would have said I was happy with my skin here.

This is your permission slip to stop wearing jeans just because they are “flattering” and pick cuts that are comfortable and work for the life you want to live. Right now, for me it’s all about the wide leg jeans + putting a belt on it. Things I don’t do as a mom of girls as someone who used to have disordered eating and an unhealthy relationship with my body:

1. Participate in “before and after” culture. I know it’s marketing gold. I know before and afters sell product but I refuse to participate. IMO, before and afters send the message that before was “bad” and after is “good” to little eyes that are watching and I think it does more harm than good.
.
.
2. Talk about my body. Hard and fast rule since my girls were bitty. While I’m not immune to human thoughts of negativity about my body, I have never voiced anything negative about my body in front of my girls unless it’s commenting on a physical ability such as being strong enough to carry them, or able to run many miles, etc.

.
3. Talk about food as good or bad. Food is fuel. Some foods provide more/better fuel than others. But we don’t talk in our home about food being “bad” or “off limits” etc. I don’t speak in absolutes about food I eat, either. We choose to focus on how a food makes us feel, or how much energy it gives us, etc.
.
.
4. Talk about diets, being skinny, losing weight, etc. I know I can’t shelter them from the world’s messages but I can do my part at home to paint a positive picture of health and wellness that models the values I hope they carry with them as they get older.

2024. It was almost hard to go back to the beginni

2024. It was almost hard to go back to the beginning of this year and pull photos because there was such layered complexity to this year. It held a LOT of unseen hard and unspeakable joy all rolled into one. As I look back on this year it was one of the hardest and best and worst and most complex and most stretching and most miraculous years of my life. God did good work this year and I’m humbled to stand where I am welcoming a new year.

The smiles you see here are hard fought and much deserved and deeper because of life lived and lessons learned.

Many of you OG’s started to follow along when I started blogging about our fertility journey. We have four babies in heaven and our fertility journey sparked my interested in clean/low-tox living long before it was cool. 😉

I’m also a #heartmom to the most amazing five year old - Truett - who had life-saving surgery as an infant for an undiagnosed #coarctationoftheaorta. We are so thankful he is alive and thriving.he keeps us on our toes on the daily. 🤣

We are slowly fixing up a 1970’s home on two acres. It’s a gem of a house but also quite a big undertaking and you will frequently see us mid-project. 😃

It was a Christmas where we seriously underestimat

It was a Christmas where we seriously underestimated the number of batteries we needed and spent most of the day assembling toys and learning how to use new gifts and running ourselves ragged helping everyone. We ate nearly 20 cinnamon rolls over the course of the day 🤣😳 and dad officially took over the role of chief cinnamon roll maker.

God did some mighty wonderful things in the last year and our family is blessed beyond measure for the gift of one another. Something I don’t take for granted.

As Truett said to me today, “God is the greatest gift of all!” He really, is, friends. Praise Him from whom all blessings flow and Merry Christmas!

Idk why but felt that someone else might also need a reminder that there are real people, living in real houses, with real budgets, and lots of kids and limited time to do all their projects. That, as my favorite phase says, “Home takes time.” And, in reality, even those who love a clean and tidy home 🙋🏼‍♀️ still live daily in houses that have evidence of real life.

Two months ago I felt very convicted that the way

Two months ago I felt very convicted that the way I ate personally was very different than the things I allowed into our home for our kids. While my diet has always consisted of lots of healthy, veggie-centric, whole food based things, their diets were increasingly filled with prepackaged snacks, sugary treats and “kid friendly” things. So, I set out to change a few things.

For the last two months we have purchased organic when possible, cut out nearly all ultra processed foods, and made the refrigerator the focus of our kitchen rather than a pantry full of processed snacks.
.
What surprised me? My kids adjusted really well. They still get PLENTY of treats in other places like school, birthday parties, dance, etc. and the goal was never to try and limit all of those things. But at home, after the first two weeks they adjusted just fine. I was also surprised and how much money I was spending on food that wasn’t healthy and how, if you take that out, you can re-allocate toward whole food items (even organic!) without totally busting your budget. We were still able to stay in budget and didn’t spend more than we had previously.

What I didn’t account for: How much more time and energy it takes on my part. I think the idea holds true: you can have quality, time and price but you can’t have all three at once. You can only have 2 of the 3. In order to stay on budget and feed my kids well, I had to allocate a lot more time and energy into both making, cleaning up, and planning around what to serve. Especially when it came to snacks and food outside of meal time. If you had an unlimited budget, I’m sure you could spend a fortune on pricey healthy snacks to make this easier for life on the go, or really high quality take out, but again, you can’t have all three at once. I’m thankful I have the time flexibility to put in that added work but I know that’s not realistic for many families.

It’s brought up a lot of thoughts and questions for me about how substantial change takes place to help people eat better and healthier in ways that are realistic, manageable and accessible. I don’t have the answers 😅😅 but its definitely been something I’ve been mulling on
